The audience should never be aware that multiple cues are happening at once.

There are but it’s our job to make it seamless

I work with some really great production crews. Getting to create alongside other audio/video professionals (who quickly start to feel like family) is truly like no other career.

Not only am I client-facing and focused, but also I operate and troubleshoot the various technology utilized for audio and image/video playback during these live events.

Here is a PowerPoint presentation that I created in only a couple hours the night of an auction event. Because talent and show content is usually changing until the moment the show starts, pre-production is often hard or even impossible to do. During this event specifically we were waiting on auction items to be confirmed and in which order to auction them off.

Designing the presentation was half of my job that night. When the presentation is complete I have to make sure and review the order and flow with the actual auctioneer, so we can advance through the show seamlessly and without any communication during the actual performance. I also have to rehearse timing with the show director, technical director and audio tech, to make sure we are all on the same line of our show flows.

The audience should never be aware that there are multiple cues happening at one moment’s notice.

You can scroll through this gallery of full-screen graphics which were used during the live auction to highlight auction items. To see the PowerPoint come to life, click the “PowerPoint” button at the bottom of the page to download a fully animated file to your device.
